Urban Godzillas examines the unstable boundary between object and background, construction and representation. Photographed in urban spaces and transformed through temporary, site-specific interventions, familiar elements of infrastructure become part of an ambiguous visual stage.
Road markings, barriers, reflective surfaces and fragments of material interrupt the apparent neutrality of public space. Perspective no longer simply records the scene; it reorganises it. Flat signs acquire volume, surfaces appear to detach themselves from their surroundings, and ordinary urban structures become strangely autonomous.
The project asks not only where an object ends and its background begins, but also how the viewer’s position determines what can be seen. The resulting images remain suspended between photographic document, constructed scene and spatial illusion.
