Imitacja 2.0 is an early photographic series created at the beginning of my doctoral studies at Łódź Film School.
Working with materials and surfaces that imitate wood, stone, marble and other familiar textures, I constructed abstract compositions directly in the studio. Through photography, the boundaries between original materials, their imitations and the resulting image become increasingly ambiguous.
Removed from their original context, everyday surfaces, textures and colours lose their practical function and become elements of a new visual composition.
The series remained unpublished and can now be seen as an early exploration of the ideas and visual language I later developed in Colores Absentes.
